A promotional photo shoot for my friend Margaux’s upcoming one woman show about her 6 month visit to India called ‘Black and Kinky amongst Brown Waves’ showing in November at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in DC. Full details of the show (dates/times etc.) to follow.

I recently did a portrait session with one of the most laid back clients I’ve ever photographed. Wee Kaelyn was very happy just to lie back and let me do all the work…

Along with the final exhibition of ‘24 on 14th‘ I also spent some time assisting my friend Dan teaching photography to a bunch of kids in a local village about 1hr outside the city of Merida.

For the 2nd session we did a basic portrait workshop outside with natural light and in the surroundings of the village, Itzincab. The kids really took to their new cameras and we also very willing subjects for me as I shot them while Dan pointed out some techniques I was using.

this month my friend, photographer Josh Yospyn is featured with a 2 page spread in Popular Photography – the world’s biggest selling photography magazine!

Josh’s subject is a rather familiar yet strangely elusive scotsman in a ‘deliberately’ un-ironed shirt.

This year I’m exhibiting 14 images from shows I’ve shot over the past 2 years. I’m on the 8th floor – facing the new baseball stadium.

I’ll be exhibiting my 24 on 14th work next month (in May) at the City of Medira Museum in Mexico. This is part of another group show this time showcasing international photographers from the US, Canada, France, Cuba and pretty much the rest of Latin America. I’m honoured to be part of it and will be in Merida for the opening of the show on May 18th 2009.
